Understand before you act

Golden Cross Active, explained

The medium-term average is above the long-term average, and the index is above its long-term average. This describes a positive trend backdrop.

How Index Screener uses it

SMA 50 and SMA 200

SMA 50 is above SMA 200, and the latest closing level is above SMA 200. Active describes the current state; it does not mean a crossover happened today.

What it helps you assess

Check whether a potential entry agrees with the broader trend.

What it cannot tell you

Moving averages respond after prices move. Sideways markets can produce repeated reversals.

Before an entry or exit

These are learning examples to build your own checklist. They are not tested trading rules or personalized recommendations.

Entry considerations

Look for confirmation

One trend-following example is to wait for a pullback to hold support and then recover. Check the distance to your planned stop before chasing a move already far above its averages.

Exit considerations

Follow your risk plan

Review the position if support fails or the index loses its long-term average. A separate risk plan can react sooner than waiting for the opposite crossover.
