Understand before you act

Bollinger Lower Touch, explained

The closing level is at or below the lower volatility band. It is low relative to its recent range.

How Index Screener uses it

Bollinger Bands (20, 2)

Latest closing level is less than or equal to SMA 20 minus two population standard deviations of the last 20 closing levels.

What it helps you assess

Spot a move toward the lower edge of the recent range and examine the surrounding trend.

What it cannot tell you

Prices can continue along the lower band during a downtrend. A daily closing touch does not record every intraday touch.

Before an entry or exit

These are learning examples to build your own checklist. They are not tested trading rules or personalized recommendations.

Entry considerations

Look for confirmation

A rebound example waits for a close back inside the band and evidence that support is holding. Check momentum as well; a band touch by itself is not a buy trigger.

Exit considerations

Follow your risk plan

If a rebound fails and the planned support level breaks, reassess the position. The middle band can be a review point rather than a guaranteed profit target.
