Understand before you act

Oversold, explained

Recent losses dominate recent gains. Selling pressure is strong; a rebound is possible, but further falls are possible too.

How Index Screener uses it

RSI (14)

The daily RSI (14) is strictly below 30. A reading of exactly 30 does not activate this badge.

What it helps you assess

Find weak momentum worth monitoring for recovery, rather than assume the index is cheap.

What it cannot tell you

A falling market can remain oversold. This badge does not identify the bottom.

Before an entry or exit

These are learning examples to build your own checklist. They are not tested trading rules or personalized recommendations.

Entry considerations

Look for confirmation

A recovery checklist could require RSI to regain 30 and the index to reclaim support or its 20-period average. Decide the level that would invalidate the recovery before entering.

Exit considerations

Follow your risk plan

If a recovery position breaks its planned invalidation level, reassess it. Oversold conditions alone are not a reason to keep adding to a losing position.
